Obituary
Alburtia Stevens, daughter of Ervin and Gertrude Conwell, was born on October 3rd, 1925, in Marble City, Oklahoma, and departed this life to be with our Lord on September 21st, 2025, at the age of 99.
She graduated HS and received some college and training before moving into the workforce. Alburtia then worked as a Secretary, Drafting Clerk and a store clerk for the following businesses: AEC in San Diego, CA; Sandia Corp in Albuquerque, NM, for 17+ years; and Stilwell Public Schools until retirement.
Alburtia has continued to be a member of our community since she moved back in 1969 with her family.
She accepted Jesus Christ into her life in August of 1950 on the Adair County Courthouse lawn during a revival held by Rev. J. Harold Smith of Ft. Smith, AR. This was a day that she would remember forever.
Alburtia was a faithful member of Park Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by many loved ones, including her husband.
Clarence, her parents, Ervin and Gertrude, and her twin sister, Wilburtia (Conwell) Burns.
A large and devoted family remains behind to keep her legacy alive and in their hearts. They include her son, Ronald Stevens, and wife Vickie of Muskogee, OK; grandsons Sean Stevens and wife Whitney of Tulsa, OK, and Jason Stevens of Welling, OK; great-granddaughters Grace Stevens and Selah Stevens of Welling, OK; nieces Berta Kay Denton of Park Hill, OK, Debbie Coomer and her children Desaray Coomer, Justin Coomer, Danielle Coomer Womack and family, and Anna Ruth Tonis of Bay Shore, NY, and children;
Elizabeth and Nick; Tammy Millet, Shelly Lignitz, Georgia Perry, Lora Miller, and Ashley Miller; nephews Melvin Burns and wife Jeanette, Kevin Denton and wife Misti, both of Park Hill, OK; and sister-in-law Betty Lou Keeter of Stilwell, OK. One BELOVED friend of long, long ago, Edra Hudgins of Stilwell, and her LOVING & LOVED family at Park Hill Church. Plus, numerous friends and acquaintances of the many past years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Oklahoma Children’s Home or Park Hill Baptist Church.
