April Unger

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of April Dawn Unger on February 27, 2026, at the age of 51.

April was a devoted wife, a loving mother of two sons, a cherished daughter, and a sister. She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Long. She is survived by her husband, Greg Unger; her beloved sons, Kolt and Kyler, who meant more to her than words could ever express; her father, William Long; and her three sisters, Debbie, Ginger, and Stephanie. She was deeply loved by her family, and her passing leaves a space in their hearts that can never be filled.

April lived a life that included both love and struggle. She faced battles that were heavy and complicated, and while those battles were part of her story, they were not the whole of who she was. Those who knew her remember the love she had for her children and the way she carried the role of mother in her heart above all else. She was someone’s child, someone’s sister, someone’s wife, and always someone’s mother.

Even in the midst of life’s hardships, April’s life mattered deeply to those who loved her. Her story is one of a woman who was part of a family that cared for her, prayed for her, and held on to hope for her.

In this time of grief, we cling to the promises of Scripture:

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

And we trust in the mercy of God.

Though her life was not without hardship, we believe God’s grace is greater than any struggle. We find comfort in knowing:

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” Revelation 21:4

She was loved. She is missed. And she is now entrusted to the mercy and love of God.
