With profound sorrow and yet with a blessed assurance through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we announce the peaceful passing of Billy Arthur Rountree, affectionately known as Brother Bill, at the age of 94. He completed his earthly race on May 17, 2026, and has entered into his heavenly home, where there are no more tears, no more pain, and no more goodbyes.

Born on May 2, 1932, in Bunch, Oklahoma, to James and Charlie (Henshaw) Rountree. Brother Bill exemplified a life devoted to faith, family, and service. A proud veteran of the Korean War, he returned home with a renewed purpose that led him to fully surrender his life to God. That decision marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey in which he devoted over 60 years to preaching the Gospel. He touched countless lives, offering prayers to the lost, encouragement to the weary, and guidance to young men seeking to share the Word of God with unwavering conviction.

Brother Bill was predeceased by his parents and two beloved sisters, Loretta Fanning and Charlene Yeargain, as well as his brother, EJ Rountree. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Carleen Cone Rountree, his brother Kenneth Rountree, and a special niece, Paula, along with her two sons, Chance and Gus Weir, for whom he provided loving care as they grew up. Additionally, he leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of family and friends who will dearly miss him.

Throughout his life, Brother Bill enjoyed the simple pleasures of hunting, fishing, reading his Bible, and riding his mules. His legacy of faith and love will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral services will be held at Roberts and Hart Funeral Home in Stilwell, Oklahoma, on Friday, May 29th, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Brother Bill's remarkable life and to reflect on the profound impact he had on so many.

In our grief, we know that Brother Bill is at peace, singing in the presence of the Lord he so faithfully served.
