It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eva Louise Poindexter, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who left us on April 21, 2026, at the age of 67. Eva was born on June 23, 1958, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and spent her final years in Oaks, Oklahoma, where she was a cherished member of the community.
Eva was the daughter of Emma (Hothouse) Meyer and her stepfather, William Meyer. She is preceded in death by her parents, two stepsons Richard Allen Price and Teddy Ray Poindexter, and her sister, Jackie Lewis.
Eva's spirit will continue to shine through her surviving family, including her children Angela and husband Matt Bolinger; Emma Poindexter; Melissa Lewis; Brandi and husband Christopher Bailey; Robert Lee Shivers; and Nikkoda Belle La'vie. She also leaves behind a legacy of love in her ten grandchildren: Skyler Brannon, Jeffery Long, Gene Bolinger, Anthony Bailey, Alanna Bailey, Alyssa Bailey, Timothy Bailey, Robert Jesse Lee Shivers, Jessica Marie Shivers, and Emmalee Dalrymple, as well as two great-grandchildren, Stephanie Costello and Gayland Howard. Eva is also survived by her sister, Rhonda Hothouse, along with her sister-in-law, Jackie Burrsard, and brothers-in-law, Doyle Poindexter and Johnny Poindexter.
A warm and embracing soul, Eva was known for her vibrant spirit and unique talents. She was a proud member of the Cornstalkers Shooters Society and the Cherokee Speakers. Eva cherished her time spent crocheting, sewing, quilting, cooking, and fishing, finding joy in each stitch and cast. Her creativity and generosity touched the hearts of those around her, leaving lasting memories of kindness and artistry.
In her passing, we honor Eva Louise Poindexter, a treasured matriarch whose legacy will live on through her family and those who had the pleasure of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort and inspiration to all her loved ones.
