Obituary

Jackie Daugherty, 68, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, passed away on August 21, 2026, at his home in Stilwell. He was born on December 8, 1957, to Wyley and Peggy Daugherty.

Jackie was a lifelong resident of Stilwell, a community he was proud to call home throughout his entire life. He was a member of Piney Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed the simple things in life that brought him happiness and kept him close to the people he loved.

Jackie could often be found playing a game of dominoes or solitaire, working on a jigsaw puzzle or word search, or settling in to watch one of his favorite westerns. The Lone Ranger and Gunsmoke were among his favorites, along with many other classic westerns he enjoyed over the years.

More than anything, Jackie enjoyed spending time with his family. Some of his favorite moments were simply sitting on the porch, visiting with those around him, and, of course, pestering his great-nieces and great-nephews whenever he had the chance. His playful nature and the familiar way he teased those he loved will be remembered with smiles by his family for years to come.

Jackie is survived by his four sisters, Karen Daugherty of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Debra McGee and Avery of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Ronetta Romero and Rafael of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and Rhonda Martinez of Stilwell, Oklahoma; one brother, Rodney Daugherty of Stilwell, Oklahoma; one half-brother, Phillip Daugherty of Cookson, Oklahoma; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Daugherty; his parents, Wyley and Peggy Daugherty; two brothers, Wyley Daugherty Jr. and Carlos Daugherty; one sister, Margie Guevara; and two nephews, Byron Fields and Brian Medina.

Jackie lived a quiet life filled with family, familiar routines, laughter, and the comforts of home. His place on the porch may now be empty, but the memories made there, the laughter he shared, and the love he had for his family will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
