Jerry Flynn, a man whose laughter echoed through the hearts of all who knew him, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, in Duncan, Oklahoma. Born on April 4, 1968, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Jerry's life was a tapestry woven with humor, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family.
For thirty years, Jerry devoted himself to being a chicken catcher, a testament to his hardworking spirit and commitment to his craft. Yet, beyond his career, it was Jerry’s vibrant personality that truly defined him. Known for his quick wit and infectious jokes, Jerry took great joy in cutting up with his loved ones, brightening even the dullest moments with his humor. His warmth extended to quiet pleasures as well; fishing, camping, and serene days spent by the lake were cherished pursuits that reflected his deep connection to nature and simple joys.
Family was Jerry’s cornerstone. Married for thirteen years to his loving wife, Cheryl Flynn, he cherished every moment spent in their companionship, finding solace and happiness in their bond. His heart expanded further with his nine children: Kendall Wolfe, Shawnda Kay, Jerid Grimment, Jarae Flynn, Shayla Teague, Kimberly Thompson, Shelby Thompson, Matthew Thompson, and Joshua Linville. Each child carries a piece of Jerry’s spirit, a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to flourish. Jerry also treasured his time with his grandchildren, relishing the chance to share stories, smiles, and memories that knit their souls closer together. Among his siblings, his sister Geneva Flynn and companion Marvin Sevenstar of Stilwell, Oklahoma, stood beside him, sharing in the joys and trials of family life.
Jerry’s journey was marked not only by the lives he touched but also by those who went before him, his beloved parents, Juanita Flynn and Oscar Flynn Sr., whose memories live on in the stories he sometimes told. He was preceded in death by his brother, Oscar Flynn Jr., and nephew, Timmy Sevenstar, whose absence is deeply felt amid the family’s cherished remembrances.
As we prepare to say our goodbyes, a visitation will be held on March 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Roberts & Hart Funeral Home is located at 801 W Locust St., Stilwell, Oklahoma.
