Jesse Alexander Scraper, age 86, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, was born on November 7, 1939, to Jesse Scraper and Polly Scraper. He departed this life on February 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, love for family, and a life well lived.
Jesse was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his two daughters, Tracey Scraper of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and Cassie Scraper of Stilwell, Oklahoma. He was a proud grandfather to Eric Rush and wife, Josennia; Aspen Sellers and husband, Stephen; Zyler Gonzales; and Ronnie Zane Gonzales. He was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren: Ahjza, Siah, Draven, Lykan, Phoenix, Mackenzie, Kage, My’Lee, Lilith, Trisda, and Aziel.
He is further survived by four siblings: Winston Delano, Richard Earl Scraper, Nanette Faye Asbill, and Margaret Ann Parker, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Polly Scraper; his grandmother, Carrie Scott; and one sister, Mary Jean Davis.
Jesse attended vo-tech where he trained as a diesel mechanic. He worked faithfully at Stilwell Foods for 25 years before retiring. Not one to sit still for long, he went on to spend another 25 years as a truck driver, dedicating much of his life to providing for his family through honest, hard work.
He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life — cooking out, spending time with family, visiting Golden Corral, Chickies, or Braum’s, and watching football, especially cheering on his favorite team, the Oklahoma Sooners. He loved nature and could often be found sitting on his front porch, quietly watching the world go by.
Jesse was truly a gentleman, a scholar, and what many would call the last of a dying breed. He was caring, kind, and at times ornery in the most endearing way. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love and memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew him forever.
