Johnny William Durossette, born May 6, 1960, in Rockledge, Florida, to Navada Clinton and Frank Durossette, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, surrounded by the love, comfort, and presence of his family.
Johnny spent many of his childhood years at the Methodist Home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. It was there that his lifelong love of farming and caring for animals began. The values and strong work ethic instilled in him during those years remained with him throughout his life.
During his teenage years, Johnny was blessed with the love and guidance of his stepfather, Arch Stayathome, who provided him with the stability and support of a two-parent home. This relationship became an important part of Johnny's life and helped shape the man he would become.
On September 19, 1980, Johnny married the love of his life, April E. Jones. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, hard work, and devotion. Their marriage was blessed with four children.
Johnny was deeply dedicated to providing stability and security for his family. He enjoyed a successful career spanning more than 30 years with Allen Canning Company in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Following his retirement, he continued working for more than two years with Arkansas State Parks in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
Johnny enjoyed many things in life. He was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved hunting, fishing, wrestling, and watching classic westerns. He had an appreciation for good music and enjoyed a wonderfully eclectic taste in songs. He looked forward to occasional trips to Colorado and visits to the beach. Of all his hobbies and interests, however, farming remained his greatest passion. There was something special about working the land and caring for the animals he loved.
Johnny had a heart that was bigger than words can express. He believed in giving people a chance and never hesitated to show kindness to those around him. His genuine character, generous spirit, and willingness to accept others for who they were left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Johnny was welcomed into eternity by his parents; his parents-in-law, Silas and Eunice Jones; his brothers-in-law, Shawn Jones and Noble Jones; his daughter, Lala Durossette; and his son, Miles Durossette.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, April Durossette; his daughter and son-in-law, Arianna and Chris Workman; his son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Candyce Durossette; and his daughter-in-law, Melanie Durossette.
Johnny's grandchildren held a very special place in his heart: Audrey Davenport and her husband, Wade; Christopher Workman; Noah Littledeer; Liam Durossette; Leia Durossette; Raylie Clemens; and Trinity Clemens.
He is also survived by his beloved brothers and sisters: Betty and Bo Welch; Roger and Debbie Yandell; Frank and Yvette Durossette; Donnie and Joyce Durossette; Lloyd and Melanie Stayathome; Tammie and Aaron Hannah; Eric Jones; Allan and Carlene Jones; Dawn McAbee; Athena and Jim Elliot; Danika Pennington; and Athalia Jones.
Johnny also leaves behind a host of cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
Johnny's life was defined by his love for his family, his appreciation for the simple things, his strong work ethic, and his generous heart. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
