Ollie Bell Brunk was born on August 29th, 1929, to John and Mae (Bryant) Woodward. Ollie was born in Madison County, Arkansas. She departed this life on December the 10th, 2025, at the age of 96 years, 3 months, and 11 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers: Harold Woodward, Earl Woodward, Howard Woodward, Earnest Woodward, and Arl Lee (Woody) Woodard; and 4 sisters: Wanda Baird, Anna Bradford, Bernice Everman, and Wynell Bradley. Husband, James William (Bill) Brunk, and husband, Leonard English. 1 daughter: Janet Faye Brunk. 1 daughter-in-law: Janice (Sponslor) Brunk.
Ollie grew up in the Freewater area. She married Bill Brunk on February 24th, 1946. They settled in Stilwell and welcomed five children into their union: Janet, Jim, John, Billy, and Cathy. While raising five children, Ollie worked alongside her husband, Bill, weeding strawberries, picking beans, and working cows. Bill and Ollie raised strawberries, and Ollie worked the shed, paying pickers and selling strawberries. Ollie was a selfless and beautiful lady. She was most happy preparing for a big family get-together. Ollie loved making her children’s favorite foods. She was an exceptional homemaker. Her donuts and homemade bread were restaurant-worthy. Ollie was also a talented seamstress, making clothes for her daughters for many years. Ollie loved the Lord and loved to sing. She had a beautiful voice and used her talent for the Lord. Ollie prayed for her children and their families daily.
The true joy of her life was her family, and Ollie is survived by her beloved sister, Wilma Means of Stilwell. 3 sons: Jim Brunk and wife Wylene of Park Hill, OK; John Brunk and wife Ann of Hoschton, GA; Billy Brunk and wife Nanette of Stilwell, OK; and one daughter, Cathy Matthews, and husband Danny of Stilwell, OK. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Melanie Fourkiller and fiancé Timmy Kincaid; Sean Fourkiller, Miriam Bartlow and husband Rob; Aaron Brunk and wife Natalie; Emily McEntyre and husband Trent; Whitney Garrick and husband Jonathan; Matt Brunk and wife Cory; Derrick Brunk, Anna Matthews, and Will Matthews. She also leaves behind twelve cherished great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who are too numerous to name.
