Wanda Faye Long, age 85, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2025. Born on November 8, 1939, to Harry and Floy Mae Davidson, Wanda's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and service.
As a devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother, and great-grandmother, Wanda made her family the heart of her existence. She poured her kindness and encouragement into every relationship, instilling in her students the lessons of compassion and perseverance throughout her esteemed teaching career.
A faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church in Peavine, Oklahoma, Wanda embodied Christian values through her acts of service and unwavering love for others. She found joy in reading, often delighting in the works of her favorite authors, such as Nicholas Sparks, Danielle Steel, and John Grisham. Family vacations were another passion of hers, creating countless cherished memories with her loved ones.
Wanda’s love story began on January 19, 1957, when she married her soulmate, William “Butch” Long. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, support, and an incredible bond that served as a model of partnership for their family.
Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Glen Davidson, and many dear friends, Wanda leaves a legacy of love and devotion. Among her proudest achievements was earning her master’s degree and excelling as a Speech Pathologist, truly making a difference in many lives.
Wanda is survived by her loving children: Debbie Yandell and husband Roger of Cookson, Oklahoma; Ginger Long Leatherwood and partner Ron Dulworth of West Martinsburg, West Virginia; April Unger and husband Greg of Stilwell, Oklahoma; and Stephanie Bunch and husband Nate of Stilwell, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind her brother Kenny Davidson and wife Brenda of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Her grandchildren; Daniel and Connie Stillwell, Cassie and Bert Osburn, David and Teri Stillwell, Lesslie and Bailey Booth, Kolt Carver, Kyler Ruben, Chelsea and Zach Schemmer, and Asher Bunch and her great-grandchildren Grant, Morgan, Jax, Gracy, Macy, Cayson, Peyton, Branson, and Elouise who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Wanda’s best friends Leta Faye, Sherry, Joy, and Gene were precious people who made her life’s journey adventurous and fun.
Wanda Faye Long’s gentle spirit, infectious laughter, and deep faith will forever resonate within the lives she touched. As the scripture beautifully states, “Her children rise up and call her blessed.” (Proverbs 31:28) Her legacy of love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
