Woodrow Fourkiller, a lifelong resident of Stilwell, Oklahoma, passed away on March 19, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on November 23, 1939, in Stilwell, Woodrow’s life was marked by dedication to his family, community, and faith.
A proud veteran of the National Guard, Woodrow also built a distinguished career as a welder, earning his bachelor's degree along the way. Beyond his professional achievements, he was deeply committed to his spiritual journey, serving as a preacher, a role he considered among his proudest accomplishments. Those who knew Woodrow remember him for his unwavering faith and the time he spent reading his Bible, an activity that brought him immense peace and reflection.
Woodrow’s personal interests spoke to his warm and approachable nature. He enjoyed watching classic television shows on TV Land, such as Gomer Pyle, and was known for always having a book in hand, continually seeking knowledge and comfort through reading.
He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 67 years, Francis Fourkiller, whom he married on April 23, 1959. Together, they raised a large and loving family, consisting of five children: Woodrow Fourkiller Jr of Stilwell, Oklahoma; Marcella Ross of Stilwell, OK; Evalina Fourkiller of Stilwell, OK; Greg Fourkiller of Westville; and Jeffrey Lee Fourkiller of Stilwell, OK. Woodrow took great pride in his expansive family, which includes 11 grandchildren, Woodrow Lee, Ericka, Kendall, Josh, Tamara, Regan, Travis, Marcus, Jayden, Takota, and Keristan as well as 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Woodrow was preceded in death by his parents, Sequoyah George Fourkiller and Dora Fourkiller (Gritts); his beloved sister, Katherine Paden; four brothers, Leo Fishinghawk, Paul Fishinghawk, Commodore Fourkiller, and Billy Fourkiller; one grandchild, Curtis Lee Sanders; and two daughters-in-law, Charity Fourkiller and Donna Fourkiller.
A visitation will be held on March 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Roberts & Hart Funeral Home, located at 801 W Locust St, Stilwell, Oklahoma. The graveside service will follow on March 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Fairfield Cemetery in Stilwell.
Woodrow Fourkiller’s legacy is enshrined in the lives of his extensive family and his community. His steadfast faith, dedication as a preacher, and commitment to family will forever be remembered with respect and admiration.
